Which is the best (legal) mp3 download site?

Hi There

I've just got windows xp and I have a creative zen micro mp3 player , I was wondering which is the best mp3 download legal site ? I had a look at napster but its £14.99 a month and if after a few months i find this too expensive i can stop but all the tracks i've downloaded will be unplayable . There are some like my music .com which seems legal and cost a one off fee but looks to be a peer-to-peer service which i thought was illegal ?

Any help would be very appreciated

Sorry if this has been repeated before . i'm sure there are alot of others in the same boat as me !

I prefer to own the CD's as I can then use them wherever I want and they're as cheap as the download sites.... I know this isn't specifically what you asked...

You might want to try out the new (currently beta) version of Windows Media Player 11 which uses the MTV Urge music site http://www.urge.com/ and they currently have a 14-day free trial going.

i dont rate any of the legal download sites, may as well buy the cd if you ask me!

Magnatune is quite good, but it's all independant music, you won't find any big names (which isn't to say you won't find any good music).

You can listen to all the tracks before you pay and get them in DRM free MP3, Vorbis or FLAC format
