Change the face plate yourself its easy or get someone who you know to do it who knows what their doing only takes a minute. The consumer unit doesnt have to be changed as far as im aware but I could be wrong. I just had mine done and we just got a large one incase we ever want a light in the shed etc. £30 plus vat seems alot to me though!

I don't see why they could have just used one large one, like i said recently having mine done, I got 1 large one which leaves me with options in the future to have extra lights in my garden etc. That consumer unit was about 70 pound brand new! SO i think the 200 pound is a bit expensive too! SO even if he bought 2, thats 140 quid

Is that just getting switched from your old consumer unit to the new or is that all new wires and tails too?
