I remember that thread too - it went on for ages and covered about 6 months on and off - there was a quick update of some sort fairly recently but I still can't find it. There were 2 sisters, that's if I'm thinking of the same one as you. It struck a chord with me as that could've so easily been me, if my life had not changed around. My ex gave me a lesson I would not forget over £200! So really feel for her.

If I find the thread, I'll post a link.

Hunting through, I got thoroughly distracted and read loads of other stuff too.

Hi I think the thread mountainofdebt is referring to is the one about my mum, started by by my sister Blade26

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=28471&highlight=Blade26

Mum was not in debt to the tune of 40k, but it was a huge shock when we found out. Mum is 66, still works, and is ploughing through paying off her debt. Dad still doesn't know!

Rachel (Blade26) and I have tried to help her as much as we can, with the help of the kind people on here and the CAB, mum should hopefully be debt free by the end of next year. She is currently trying to claim back charges to the tune of £3500, which IF she is sucessful will help massively.

PM me or Blade26 if you want. Mum was so ashamed when we first found out, but she is a completely different person now, she is relieved that her secret has been shared with someone. OK ideally it would be dad, but hey ho, try as we might she wouldn't have a bar of it.

Chin up OP, im sure that the lovely bods on here can help you and your mum as much as they did Rachel and I and our mum.

    Cheers
    Jane (Starkiller)
