Help please.We are about to paint a glazed tiled fire surround.Could anyone suggest the type of matt paint required that would be resistant to heat.Thanks.

I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to do that. If it's an original feature I'd leave it the way it is, if it's not and they're nasty tiles then I'd replace them with tiles you do like. Painting tiles never looks great in my opinion.0

There's a variety of paints on this specialist site (ignore the ones that are specifically for metal / stoves) - as examples.

But - as the previous post - have you really thought through how it will look?. Tile it / render it etc - but just painting over the tiles will likely look a bit unappealing?If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
I agree with those above. I painted over awful bathroom tiles once and, as a result, they looked even more awful!0

You can tile over tiles you know, the surface is flat and already there waiting.

You can indeed (although it's sometimes easy .. but not advisable). But there's presumably a tiled mantel on this - and that's a bit daunting !!;)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
