How long do Tax Credits take to send letters?

I phoned them last Wednesday 24th May and confirmed my 2005/06 earning and I also informed them of change of income details for the coming year (reduced due to working less hours because of ill health). The lady said I would get something in the post in a few days. I know we've had a bank holiday so that could delay it a bit, but how long should I give them?
I'm only worried because last time I changed jobs my case got stuck in the computer and they didn't pay me anything for almost 2 years. Even though I was contacting them every month, they just kept telling me the computer said they had paid my old employer. I checked and they hadn't and anyway my old employer was the DWP! They eventually admitted it was a computer error and paid me all the money in a lump sum plus £90 compensation but now I'm earning so much less I couldn't cope if it happened again.

Hi there,
I phoned them last wednesday too. My details were wrong and they had to be corrected. I recieved my letter yesterday. I would give them 2 weeks and ring them again. Especially as you have had problems before.
Good luck and i hope your letter arrives soon. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
if you are awaiting a finalised award based on declared 05-06 inc then usually it is quite quick (7days max). any probs at TCO end re your declaration may delay things a bit. as above, best to leave 2 weeks and then call. everything gets sent 2nd classfatblokexl:EasterBun:0

At last, 2 letters from them arrived on Saturday and everything seems to be OK! I'm so relieved, I was so worried it was all going to go wrong again!Marsh Samphire0
