Hmm... it does sound like it may well be a driver or software issue.

The only thing I can suggest is a concerted attack on google with the camera model details and Vista as search terms - I can't believe that you are the first to have had this problem and even if the answer is can't be done than at least you'll know how you stand. If it wont run then you should insist on a refund as selling something that will only run on an obsolete opsys isn't good enough. If you got it on CC then your final option is to contact the CC and insist they reverse the transaction.

Thanks kwik, Ive tried this and there are lots of people asking about the same issue but no answers unfortunately. As I said some sites SEEM to offer an update to VISTA but there isnt one. :(

    Much appreciate your help though.

Hope you get some satisfaction one way or the other.
  • Have you or had you any other web cam software on the computer. I had this problem when the old software was not properly removed, on xp but still a possible.

Thanks Peter, no nothing else. We only got this cctv system due to problems we have been having. Police told us to get it set up and it does record video and photos but at the moment, without having the usb facility we have to climb up a tall ladder to retrieve the card and then put it on the computer. Very irritating.

I didnt know if we had to use the Sunplus program or whether there is another suitable for VISTA that we could use. I dont know enough to fiddle about with it :(

expresso, thank you but it doesnt work when you install the download even though it says for VISTA - other sites have done the same too (see Browntoa's post abobe). The Sunplus home site doesnt even have an upgrade for VISTA. The manufacturers have confirmed there isnt an available VISTA upgrade. Yes thank you did realise that about the driver but the software given isnt working.
