MSE techie trouble

Bear with me on this and sorry for the one paragraph but I can't do it any other way ... I shall explain. For some reason, when I open MSE on my laptop I get lots of 'script error' dialogue boxes and have to repeatedly press enter to go through the boxes and then the way the page is then set out is awful. I can read threads but when I reply (like this) I just cant format it. No bold, italic or whatever. I can't even start a new paragraph as even though the return button works now as I'm typing, when I 'submit' the new message it is just one paragraph (as you can see). It only does it on this site, no other and it only does it on this laptop and not on my PC. Anyone have any ideas whats happened. TIA

Ok what Web Browser are you using, What operating System also, are you updated if using XP (I typed that like a helpline expert)

I would suggest giving https://www.ccleaner.com a go just to wash out any rubbish, also when installing untick install Yahoo toolbar.0 -

Mmmm BT dont actually make a browser so I shall take that as IE (Internet Explorer)
Just to make sure with the browser Open click Help About and the Browser name should be given, can you do that please.0 -
It says BT YAHOO BROWSER0

That's not strictly true:Quincy wrote:BT dont actually make a browser......a Yahoo Browser is now on offer, which while based around Internet Explorer offers many enhancements, including customisable sidebars...0 -

....and this is prolly why you are getting errors. Just stick with the plain old IE6 patched up with all the updates.
You may have a entry for Yahoo browser in add/remove progs.....
Before you try remove (if you want to, that it) export all your fav's and any other info you may have stroed in your BT Yahoo broswer.0 -
You dont need the bt yahoo browser, I found it slow on a freinds PC. everyone says use Firefox ect as they are more secure and have added features over internet explorer.
Try browsing with IE and see if you get the same errors.
I cant remember how much alike IE the BTY browsers are but just incase IE has an option to enable script debugging, go to tool, options advanced and in there is a tick box to disable script debugging tick it and it may sort your problems like I said I dont know if it is an option in the bty browser but it is worth a try0 -
The Bt Browser
Built with IE but a different or modified front end (Yuk)

Thanks everyone. My browser doesn't look anything like the one in the pic above. The problem with the MSE site has only happened in the last week so thats why I find it strange. I use the BT Yahoo Browser as all the family have email accounts on it and our own personal favourites. If I moved all my faves over to IE then I'd have my teenage son buying stuff off eBay and going to all the sites I use. I will thank you all when I get on my PC as I owe you all one. Thanks0

i have exactly the same problem at work. the more posts on a page the more pop up error boxes i get. I've not had chance to play and find out what it is as it's only happened over the past week or so but i'll sort it and let you know what causes it.0
