Fake DVD Website WARNING. dvdyes.co.uk

Options
This website sells fake Disney DVDS.
They advertise originals.
I have just received my package from Thailand. I havent opened the plastic seal but there is no Hologram and the covers are badly printed. Dont buy from this website.

They state 'As seen on TV' which I fell for.

Luckly I payed with paypal so they dont have any of my details.

    What do you expect:

    Registrant's address:
    142/2 Chang Klan
    Chiang Mai
    Chiang Mai
    10500
    Thailand

It is registered by a UK person, but the address is a sure fire give away!
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Fair comment mwillitts but how many people do a WHOIS before using a website? I bet a lot of people see .co.uk and think that it's okay.

(I wonder if this should be reported to Nominet if it is not a UK business?)

Of course, but that's irrelevent to the point I made. (Doing a WHOIS to find out the name and address of the website's registrant).

  • I wish you luck with Paypal. When I was sold a fake DVD through Ebay, Paypal wouldn't refund unless I sent the fake DVD back to the seller and they also wanted proof that the DVD was a fake, the picture I sent them of the printed label peeling off the DVD wasn't sufficient evidence  They wanted me to take it to the police and get them to verify it was a fake:mad:

I gave up in the end, they just don't use any common sense. At least Ebay banned the seller:T

Do you always send your money off to companies with no contact details ?
  • The company refunded my money through paypal this morning, with no questions asked. They didn't ask for the dvds back or give me an address to return them.

    I was lucky.

When I was searching through Google for Dvds, they were a sponsered address at the top of the page so I just assumed they were UK based, like their website suggests.

As a non experienced buyer, I will only stick to well known names now.

I've never heard of Whois before.
