Hi, its possible my nan might go into a home as shes not coping very well (despite the fact she physically could). She doesn't own any properity, and my Dad was wondering whether she would have to pay or not from her savings as we don't know how much savings your "allowed"? She gets a small bit of pension and AA (and housing paid for)

the social servies will do an assessment of how much she has to pay, if her savings are under £22,500 the she will qualify for assisstance from local authority, they look at all her income and leave her with "pocket money" approx £20 per week for all other expenses. If her savings are above the £22,500 then she is expected to pay for all the fees until the amount drops below that level.0
