Faulty new carpet

I have had a new carpet fitted in my lounge this week which I bought from a local warehouse. Some of the rolls had written on the card slightly damaged however mine did not say this. When I told them that mine was faulty they said they didn't check it before it left the warehouse and they would send the manager to look at it but he was not interested he just went on about it being a good carpet being an abingdon and said maybe he could give me some money back but he would phone the manufacturer and then phone me to let me know. However I have not heard from him. I don't want any money back I want him to replace the carpet. Can anyone tell me please what rights I have and what to do or say next.

What makes you think that your carpet is faulty ?

There are 3 faded lines running for 20inch long by an inch wide. Also a long line that is not a join running accross for about 3 ft and half the carpet is a light shade and the other half is a dark shade.

You really need to write to the carpet warehouse telling them that the carpet was not sold as defective and is not of satisfactory quality. If you bought it on credit then the credit company are equally liable.

There are some template letters on the Consumer Direct site one of which should be relevant to you Here
