Does anybody know much about Hilton Honours.
I signed up for it last month and used my HH number when booking a 1night stay at a Hilton Hotel in Paris using Tesco clubcard vouchers. Anyway my question is by using my HH number with my reservation, will this do anything to my booking, say get us any advantages. I am un-sure what exactly HH does for you and how it works. I only signed up for it through a pop-up on the Hilton site.
Thanks.

HH works just like the other "loyalty" programs.
The only real incentives come when you reach Gold status or above.
Thats when you can use late check out, free upgrades etc etc.
All the points you collect from it though can be transferred to most airlines.
See points.com or webflyer.com for details.0 -
You can also use you points for free nights. I've used them and you can make good savings by doing this. Also remember that if you use them in the US they can be used at a lot more hotels other than just Hilton's and some offer Double Dipping that give both Airmile type points and HH Points.0

So are the HH points good value. I booked a £250 room, howmany points would that get me approx and how many points to you need for up-grades or free rooms and how do you claim them?
Thanks for your help.0 -

To strat getting upgrades you need to stay in Hilton for 36 nights during a year. That gives you Gold status.
As for points, I think you get 10 HH's per £ spent. So £250 = 2500 points.
You need 7500 minimum for a free night somewhere. This would probably be one of the cheaper hotels.
A full blown Hilton hotel would probably cost about 20,000+0 -
Thanks Unitedflyer...just what i was looking for. Wow....36days of the year, i think it will take me several years to reach the point of getting up-grades and about a year to get a free night somewhere.....thanks again Unitedflyer0

If you dont stay much then you will never get upgrades as these programmes are bassed on stays during a 1 year period.
I am in the priority club which is pretty good as they often have promotions like double points if you stay more than twice in a month etc and you can quickly acumulate points. The increase in status through the club is based on points or nights, so if you stay in really expensive hotels and have big bar bills you can get a higher status quite quickly. I have the highest level now and achieved that with about 25 nights last year. Also give you a wide range of hotels - anything in the intercontinental brand, so holiday inn / express / crowne plaza / intercontinental etc0 -
I've always been very sceptical about these types of card. To get much out of them you normally have to pay full price - and often ! If your company is paying for your travel they may be worth having, if you are paying out of your own pocket - don't bother.
I recently stayed in the Sheraton at Heathrow (booked over the net) at half the price of two American colleagues who had booked on their Sheraton cards.
The same thing applies to regular traveller airline miles. If you pay full fare you get miles, if you get a discounted fare on the same aeroplane, you get yards.0 -
I payed with Tesco Vouchers so it was full-rate most definetly, and they let me get points on my HH card which is good i suppose but your right, you do have to pay full-fare. If you booked, say through hotwire, you could not gain points. Saying that though, this is the third time this year i have payed full rate for a Hilton room.0
