    get people to look at your face when they talk to you and pat you on the back if they want you and your back is turned, youll be amazed how much those two things can help

    For me it's a similar situation; my hearing is very good (and exceptional at some frequencies) but a crowded room with lots of people talking? Just a wall of noise through which I can't hear anything.

    My referral to a hearing specialist at the hospital showed no problems and he told me that they can't test hearing under all possible situations, so even though I have a problem with background noise, it's not something they can detect. I was offered a hearing aid but declined as I don't think it's affecting my life that much at the moment.

    Lip reading classes helped a lot though and were very useful for hints and tips.

    interesting, just did the online test and it said my hearing was normal....

    i'm partially deaf in one ear and the other is going down hill and i struggle to hear people...
    Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

    Lol paprika, should i be worried then if the test thinks my hearing is worse than someone who actually is partially deaf?
