  • Right, have just got in from work. I really dont like working weekends, especially bank holidays but it pays the bills.

My overpayment for September is winging its way to the building society. This leaves the total outstanding balance at approximately

    £7750.00

Its going down, but ever so slowly.

Well done poppyoscar, violetblue and parnott.:j
As expected our overpaying has been drastically affected by DD's offer of a university place. Our overpayments for the next few months at least, will be £50. We need to get ourselves sorted, and then will hopefully be in a psotion to up that a bit. Pleased we have exceeded our target for the year though, and very proud of our daughter who thought she has messed up her exams bigtime!:D

    Hi everyone,

MFW No.177 checking in with an August OP of £1550 due to hitting my Q2 bonus at work!:D

I have also been offered another job today with a 14k salary increase and I'm absolutely gobsmacked!! Just waiting on the offer letter so can hopefully attack the mortgage balance further. I might even have a beer tonight!

Thats an amazing payrise haha, have you received the offer now?

    Hi all,

Number 12 reporting in for August, with my last ever overpayment of £500. The remaining balance is now under £1k, and will be down to zero after 3 more monthly payments! I've decided not to overpay any more now, and just leave it to run its course. I'm already feeling richer, knowing that next payday I'll have so much more spare money!

3 months to go till mortgage-freedom...

That is fantastic, I would also be impatient but at least you know the end is in sight. I would see that any extra money you would use for OP is now money you can use on nicer things while you wait :D well done on doing it in 9 years :T

Yeah it's arrived over the weekend.

After some careful consideration and a very generous 20% salary increase offer from my current employer I have decided to accept the 49% increase offer from the new job. ;)

I will hand my notice in tomorrow which will activate 2 months gardening leave and I've no garden.:rotfl:

You're so right Di, I would never have even thought to start overpaying without this board, and it's the challenge and support on here that has spurred me on. So thanks to everybody who posts here!

Well done and congrats to poppyoscar and Parnott too, fab news! :T

Me and my GF have recently found out that she is nine weeks pregnant, so we won't be overpaying alot now as we need to save and spend on the baby, really happy about it though!

Still going to overpay when possible. Although this time next year I think a 'payment break' is more likely as it will only be me working but it will be worth it:beer:
