I get this magazine via subscription and was very annoyed when i went into the local shop the day after it came through my door to see it had a free gift with it. I didn't have one with my subscription magazine, also the previous month my magazine should have had a free choc bar but i didn't get it. Does anyone else find they don't get the free gift if they get the magazine by subscription?

I will be writing to Marie Claire as i love crabtree and evelyn so am gutted.

I you check the MSE magazine thread I think that lots of the Mags on subscription do NOT now get the free gifts, 'cos of the cost of posting etc.
I know MC always used to send the free gift, but maybe they are having to cut costs as well.

I was thinking exactly the same thing this week - no choc last month and no handcream this month. To make it even worse, it tells you all about your free gift inside the magazine - look at what you could've won! :mad:
I think it's a bit off that subscribers aren't getting the gifts - I'm sure I got them in the past and don't remember getting anything to say they would be discontinued.

I know what you mean, I subscribe to Marie Claire and with my first delivered magazine, I recieved the James Brown hair mask but have had no gifts since and I was REALLY annoyed to read the little article on the hand cream - thanks for nothing MC !! :rolleyes:

Apparently they have stopped the freebies in the mags that have subscriptions as per this email that I received after I queried where were the gifts.

I too am a MC subscriber and I too am miffed that they have decided to stop sending the gifts. It's all good and well them saying that it's due to postage costs and that it's to give subscribers the best price - but to then write a page about the goods in the magazine is rubbing salt in the wound!! We're being penalised for our loyalty instead of being rewarded!!

I thought that postage prices went up months ago anyway - so why has this only started to affect us now?

Odd. I am a Marie Claire subscriber and my magazine came yesterday, complete with hand cream.
