Budget Airline Catering

I've tried Easyjet a few times and BMI Baby. On both the food is over priced and poor quality, assuming you can get it. One Easyjet flight had no hot drinks at all on board, until a stewardess found a few hot chocolates in a cupboard :o

If you want refreshements on board, I've found it's a lot cheaper and better quality to get a Boots meal deal in the airport and take that with you. It also fills some of the time in between check-in and bording!

Travelling wiith 4 kids, in the past I've used one of their handluggage allowances to take our own picnic bag. Feel quite good knowing we're not paying £3 per sandwich and a quid for a bar of chocolate!! That would soon add up for 6 of us. I buy the big tubes of pringles to take with us, so they don't feel hard done by for not having the extortionately priced mini ones from the menu.

The choice onboard is usually very limited too, although they do sometimes have "deals" like a soup and roll.

Having said that, I love Easyjet and Ryanair - their low cost flights have enabled us to travel to places we'd have struggled to afford to go to otherwise.

Try Air Berlin, the best budget airline , you get a free drink, sandwich, chocolate biscuit, sweet on boarding, newspaper, free goodies for the kids & they have inflight entertainment on board which is free if you take your own headphone. Went to Majorca from stansted twice last year with them £140 total for 4 people including taxes in August.!!
