Hi All
quick question - whats the best way to clean an expensive leather settee - in particular its like a head stain from my brothers wax, gel, etc etc etc.
Its basically dulled down the leather and made it quick grubby/greasy/waxy to touch
i used a standard leather wipe but the colour started to come off.....eek

Dont know about the patch but to be honest from day one we have used only the cheap packs of leather wipes from the pound shop or home bargains.
Mine was also expensive and they work great for us.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
!!!!!! - looks like i'll have to keep wiping and hope it shines the leather back up.
Wonder if there is a specific leather shine on the market0 -

Ooooo.....go careful. You don't want to spoil a lovely sofa.
I use a local (to us) company, based on the Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead. They're called Leather Repair Gateshead and do website sales.
I'd ask their advice (or a similar company near you). If you end up with a paler patch on your sofa because the colour is coming off, it'll cost £25 or more to buy dye to sponge on yourself, and the hassle of taking a cushion from it to them to colour match the dye to....and more if you want professionals to fix it for you. I had to buy some after we scraped part of our sofa getting it into our current home. It works a treat....but £25 is £25!
Advice costs nothingMirror, mirror, on the wall.I am my mother after all!0 -

this is like hair gel or something on my sofa - every time i use leather wipes they seem to have the dark burgundy marks on them - worried it'll ruin the sofa.
Maybe i should seek some advice from a leather specialist0
