Help Please Baliffs......

Basically i ahd a letter from a baliff company regarding last years council tax we owed i rang up the number and said someone would contact me well about 3 wks later a man rung and we made an appointment. Appointment day comes and i wait and wait and no-one turns up i live in a block of flats so normally u have to buzz to get in..no-one buzzes... run forward to today i get a letter from the company basically saying pay £416 or the baliffs are coming to take your stuff away...what do i do???? i rang them up and thay say i never kept the appointment and that was the only chance to make an arrangement... i waited in and no-one turned up...so basically we've got to find the money from somewhere i just dont know what to do?? Can someone PLEASE advise me what should i do?

    plus i forgot to add if they do come with a removal vehicle they will add further costs a minimum charge of £80.00!!!!!

    Don't answer the door to bailifs. If you let them in then you HAVE to allow them to take away your stuff if it comes to that. If you do not answer the door then they can't do that. Obviously you need to sort this out, but you can refuse to answer the door to the bailifs.

    Companies often just send these letters to frighten you - because it works. Just phone them back and try to arrange payment - they usually "back down" as they don't want to lose out either.
