When can I get comparison site benefits

Hi

I have done comparison site this week on my electricity and a relativelty new tariff makes sense for me. A whopping 21% saving with Edf's online saver 3. But I cant order from comparison sites as option not there - and am told that the tariff is so new that it will take about a week before I can order it this way and so benefit from the comparison site benefits.

Is 1 week realistic - i dont mind waiting a little while but dont want to wait on false pretences.

Anyone any experience on how long it can take to be available on price comparison sites ?

Thanks

You don't use comparison sites to switch unless the targetted company is not on the cashback sites. Since you get a £60 cashback from EDF if you switch via topcashback.co.uk I would suggest trying them (if you use comparison sites you won't get much more then £30. Probably less.) (Other cashback sites are available.)
  • Hey

Thats great and does just what I wanted. Do you know how long the cash back takes to appear on this site as 5 days after placing the order via this site nothing is showing. I just want to make sure I did the right thing before I do anything else on this

    Thanks

It usually tracks very quickly, often the same day, but sometimes a little longer.
The site suggests waiting 7-14 days

Actual payout is typically after 3-4 months though.

When you follow the link to the supplier through the cashback site, the supplier pays commission to the site for attracting you as a new customer. That commission when paid to the site is then passed onto you.

The cashback site keeps a record of you accessing the supplier though them as you have an account with the cashback site. This also allows you to monitor progress e.g. it'll first show the transaction has tracked (meaning its been successfully recorded), then later it might show when the supplier has paid the site (indicating there should be no excuse to not receive the cashback) and finally they confirm when they have paid you.
