    If something that is a "bit" tight but goes through with a push and is accepted by the post office, guaranteed to be delivered with no extra fee charged because it was later found to not slip through the sizing guide easily? Anyone know the answer?

    the charge letters are pulled out via sorting machines
    i can see why the PO's would err on the side of caution
    i imagine they get serious greif if an item ends up charged for a couple of pence extra postage

    Re post boxes, our street door is Arts and Craft/Gothic revivial and has the smallest letter box you have ever seen, matchbox sized even a postcard would struggle. However, for the sanity of the postmen we have further outside doors on a porch and that has the largest letter box ever, either that or my postmen are magicians as they manage huge thick paperback books in tons of wrapping and don't even scrape the outer covering.
