Can you change the payment date?

in Credit cards
Hi,
This one isn't for me, its for my partner. Shes being harrassed by a store card company, as she is always late for payments (I have told her to make 2 separate payments to get around this - but thats by the by) as it comes after her payday. She has asked them time and time again for the payment date to be changed, but they said they "can't" - which I find very hard to believe - and even tried to enter an agreement where she pays the card off over a set period. My partner has just entered an agreement with another credit card company to pay the other card she has off (and they have amended the payment day no problem). We have tried to be amicable with them to try and reach an agreement, but they will pretty much harrass us (they call the house up until 8.30ish, then proceed to ring my partner's mobile ALL day, then begin to ring the home phone from about 6-6.30) until someone picks up to ask for payment. They won't even let us speak to a manager to try and sort something out. It seems a little ridiculous that they won't help us to help them
Can credit/store card companies flat out refuse to change the payment date, or should they be flexible like everyone else seems to be?
Thanks

Might be worth requesting a change of STATEMENT DATE rather than PAYMENT DATE.
I'm not sure that they are obliged to comply but I have never had a problem with Credit Cards doing this. If they won't, why not vote with your feet and Balance Transfer the balance to a new card ?0 -

They set the rules so yes they can, if you don't like it you can go elsewhere ! However most will permit at least one statement date change without problem, but I have heard of the odd one who will charge an admin fee for any further changes.
So what card/company is refusing to change ?0 -
Its Creation or Pilot (Pilot may be the card, includes New Look as one of the places you can use it) I think, they do store cards, and no matter how we try and resolve it, they take the "its my way or the highway approach". They won't budge at all, just seems very unreasonable to me0

how much is the minimum monthly payment
could you not help her make just one payment ontime...
then she can 'save' her payment once she gets paid so she can pay the next on ontime,
then she can save the money she would have use to pay late for the next one etc.
she only needs to break the cycle once and get rid of all this grief (and presumably late payment fees, trashed credit records etc.0 -

I've tried that, but no joy. She won't let me do it. I've even said, pay them an amount when they call you for the late payment, and then make another payment to cover the current month, but she still won't do that. I'm just going to have to talk to her again. Its getting ridiculous, we can't even sit in the living room without the phone ringing.
Thanks for the help though, greatly appreciated

That explains a lot ! The card will be issued by Sygma Bank in the UK (part of a french bank)who issue lots of different retailers branded cards. They never have been know for their flexible approach or low APR's and it doesn't surprise me now I know who it is.
All you can do is be persistent, but they are quite within their rights to refuse to change the date if they so wish.
Time to sit your G/f down and make her see some sense !0
