Tax Disc Question
Comments
-
There was a case recently where traffic wardens had to ignore scooters/bike with covers on because they were not allowed to interfere with the covers. As the covers covered the tax disc and the number plate they cannot issue tickets to parked and covered vehicles (even if they are parked illegally). I suspect the Police could legally uncover a covered car if it is causing an obstruction. The man without a signature.0

I only have a half cover - it covers all the windows but not the plates. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Yes, and there are people shoplifting, kiddy fiddling, and murdering right now. None of which is a reason to just accept it.cyclonebri1 wrote: »You know right now the "law " is being made a mockery off. All this sheite about having to have panels in covers, FFSake, the gov/plod know if vehicles are untaxed/unmotted/uninsured. the physical check is no longer neccessary. When will legislation catch up

What would be more likely to attract the attention of "plod" than a shed with a cover over it???
You have totally missed the detail of the offence committed here.
It is not of having an untaxed vehicle, but of failing to display - an entirely different offence.
It's the law of the land. If you don't like it, speak to your MP and try and get it changed. Bleating on about it here wont change the law.
The OP asked the question about was it failing to display, I provided the answer to that question."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Again fair point, I must admit I was asuming with so much surveilance about this would be covered;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Well that's very helpfull within this thread, I'll asume you are an expert on the subject:rolleyes:
I know perfectly well the post is about failure to display, but I asumed with so much surveillance about these days, there was no need for the nosy neibour approach. Sooner or later, and I think sooner, they will be caught:T
Thanks to the 2 posters that made valid points that I have acknowledged.:T
You do not have a sticky in the window for your driving licence, MOT or insurance, why Tax,??

Because, as I posted:

I do have a sticky for my MOT but it's not compulsory and I only put it there because I am a bit dozy with dates so a belt and braces approach is needed in my case. Same as having a tax disc is a physical reminder to me.
Sorry all you other drivers have to put up with it but it does help me.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Reighn your neck back in a little Premier, I know full well it is the "law of the land" as you so helpfully pointed out,, I was merely questioning why it was still neccessary do to massive advancement in tecnologyI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
