Hi NID
I wonder if you can give me some advice I have 3 Defaults
2 with Abbey and one with egg. I only knew about this today
checking my credit profile Ive had no information from them at all
and when I spoke to the Debit management company they told me this was
how they done it.One of the loans has been sold to debit company this was done early Jan but on the credit report the default shows as being placed on November 09.
Lenders are allowed to default you and they do so, usually after you miss a few payments or go on a DMP! Not much I can do here i'm afraid, the defaults are part and parcel of being in debt....
When you say 'debit company' do you mean a debt collection agency - i.e. DCA?2010 - year of the troll

Thanks for so quick response (don't you sleep?)
Debt is cca £21k across 6 cards.
No payments have been made for the last 3 months (due to complicated circumstances, not that someone wanted to do a runner).
One default note has been already issued by the smallest creditor with the highest APR (Duet card - they are not better than loan sharks in my opinion as they were quick and fast to serve a note).
The other ones are Egg (the biggest one), HSBC, Barclaycard (x2), Capital1.
Plus I do not bother any longer about my credit file. It has been already ruined by someone else on my behalf and am not going to apply for a mortgage in foreseen future.
Hiya
Ok, you need to start at step 1, from page 1 and work through the first 4 steps. Basically start by CCAing the lenders and send £1 to each. Make sure you do not bank with the same company that you CCA - ensure you have a separate account held elsewhere or they will try and offset.
Good Luck...2010 - year of the troll

I only found this forum a couple of days ago and I just wanted to thank you for this amazingly detailed info.
I have two credit card debt (HSBC & MBNA) which have both defaulted and both been passed to DCA's. One is with Capquest and the other Central Debt Recovery Unit. My payments have been erratic and I'm in arrears with my payment plans. The latest communication I've had from CDRU is a letter saying they will call me on Saturday - I'm not sure whether they mean they will send someone to my doorstep or just phone me? Anyway the stress of all this is really getting to me. I'm I too late to tray and CCA these people? Do I need to send the letters to MBNA & HSBC or with the DCA's deal with the request. I also have 2 bank accounts with HSBC and a loan with them (up to date on that). How does that affect what I do?
Any help / advice will be much appreciated. thanks in advance.0 -

Well you don't !!!!!! on the same people you bank with and if you're in a lot of arrears then you may not get another account so to be honest, for the sake of two cards i'd certainly not be looking at this process - you'd be better speaking to the people agreeing a repayment plan.
The moment you pull a CCA request out at HSBC they will start emptying anything you get paid into your bank accounts - speak to them!2010 - year of the troll

I got in the post today a statment from Freemans saying that the balnce is now £0. Whereas January's statement said i owed them £1843.73. Do you think that means they couldnt find the CCA?? I still havent actully received a CCA in the post as yet.
Thanks
