Blocked external rainwater drain - how to clear

We have a lean to style conservatory built on the side of our house which uses the party wall with next door as its outer wall.

There is a rainwater drain running along the top of the wall which discharges into a storm drain in our garden on the outer end of the conservatory. New next door neighbours decided to grow plants up their side of the wall and while they keep them cut back by mutual agreement they do block the gutter from time to time due to silt and leaves collecting in it.

We discovered today that the recent heavy storms have dislodged the drain cover from the rainwater outlet into the storm drain which is now filled with silt and leaves and completely blocked up.

Any suggestions on how to clear it?

get as much as you can out with your bare hands. use a spoon etc..
then rod it thro with summat like a drain wire. (rods are probably too thick).

Get a 1pint plastic (round, harder plastic the better), milk or pop carton. With the top left on, cut the bottom off. Bread knife great for this. Makes a great scoop for gutters.
