Hi there, I want to book 4 tickets for Wicked at the Apollo Victoria for Sat 5 December. Is there any way of doing this more cheaply than just going straight to the theatre's own box office?

Obviously depends on what level tickets you want. Generally top tickets will mean dress circle and these are the most sought after on a Saturday so don't expect to get discounted tickets like you would perhaps off season or mid week. Its also a very popular show so availability may be tricky. I'll declare my interest here as I'm the commercial manager for Viewlondon, but I've worked in events/tickets for good few years. If you just want to get tickets then you can go through our site (Viewlondon) but they aren't cheap at £75 each, thats on a face value of £60. Now, I'm fairly sure you won't get them much cheaper ticket only (as our supllier get them direct and I'm confident that prices are kept fairly steady given they are such high demand) and really it just comes down to availability.
Second option could be if you're perhaps considering a hotel room on the saturday night as well, as they can swallow the costs to some degree into the hotel margin, so the 2 elements, hotel and tickets combined can at times be much cheaper than buying separately.
Truth is popular show prices on the busiest day of the week leisure wise in London are pretty much fixed, so just avoid paying additional booking fees where possible.
There is lots of seasonality with theatre though, and Jan/Feb are much cheaper, still saturdays are the last to give any savings though. Matinees could be much cheaper but again you are looking at one of the top shows.
Hope that helps!

ticketmaster is the house agency for WICKED, the system they, themselves use. So, if there are any problems on the night, you'll always have the priority.
Agencies often make mistakes and cause double bookings, or rip people off, especially on a Saturday as its the most popular day.
you're approaching xmas season which is hugely busy so don't expect much of a discount.
the theatre do Day seats for £25 each which is the front row, only on the day of the performance, and 2 per person and 1st come 1st served.
otherwise, its studnt or oap discount but thats subject to availability and if theyre really busy or sold out you wont get one.
the majority of the seats at Wicked are top price but you can get the back of circle or side stalls for cheaper. Be aware its one of the biggest theatres in London so if you're at the back of the circle, youre v.high up and far away.0 -

Ignore this spammer. He will know full well you can get tickets much cheaper than he sells them for!
eg You only pay £2.25 booking fee on the top price tickets (£60) at ticketmaster (plus one £2.50 for postage), so Matt's company would charge you £300, and TM £251.50! And it will be worth trying other reputable agencies.0 -
Thanks guys. I actually got them for £40 on lastminute.com. It's good to know about the £25-on-the-day thing for another time.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620
