Anybody used this??

We had double-glazing installed earlier this year. Since then we've been looking for a tool to clean the upstairs outside glass from inside the rooms so I don't have to clamber up a ladder.

There are many squeegy-type devices which would work when outside pulling them downwards, but do not work very effectively when inside pushing them downwards.

My OH has just spotted this :-

Has anybody used it? Is it any good?

Hi,

havn't used one, but don't think it would be very effective.

Maybe something like this would do the job, I even see some of the local window cleaners using them.

just as a little afterthought, why did you get solid windows in upstairs, why not get tilt n' turn, or even just some kind of an opening window, you need someway to get out, incase of fire.

One of those things.....................works on the demo but not in real life would be my bet.

think you might have to stick the outside bit on,,, and,,,,, again,,,, again, when it falls off.

If it works by means of some sort of magnet probably the space between the two panes of glass stops it from working.
Maybe on single glazing it would be ok.
Still think buying a ladder is the way to go.

lol - I thought I'd explained that in the OP; "while inside pushing down.."

i.e. the windows open, I insert my hand through the opening, and then have to push the squeegy away from me. Whereas the squeegys are designed to be pulled towards you. iyswim? This leaves marks on the glass.

And yes, I've had a ladder (two actually) for donkies years (which I use for cleaning the gutters, replacing loose tiles and ..painting the old windows!! ). I would just prefer to clean from inside more effectively than I can at present

That was my first thought, which is why I posted on here

I've seen these extendable ones, but I'd prefer to be inside so that I can see (and quickly remove) any marks that are left. The ones I have are a similar design but shorter. If you look at it closely, unfortunately it is designed to be pulled not pushed (which you need to do when you are inside and above the window). iyswim?

These gadgets just do not work...........I have tried them all.
Its either a ladder or a window cleaner.
