Hi,
I have an AMD Athlon 64 processor and am on Windows XP Service Pack 1. About 6 months ago, I looked into updating to Service Pack 2. I did some research into this and some people seemed to have great problems and others did not. I tried it and it was a disaster. I ended up having to reinstall windows and everything else. Does anyone know if these problems have been resolved yet?

I had to install Service pack 2 when it first came out - I recently had to reinstall windows and in turn update to service pack 2 - No problems on either update.
As a safety precaution I did do a full back up.
Good luck0 -

Got an Athlon 64 3500+ myself and not had a single problem. I think a lot depends upon the state of your system beforehand. SP2 installed ok for me and I have quite a specific setup. Ideally though you want to install SP2 after freshly installing XP."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
