Tell me...why do Chelsea fans hate Celtic?

If you ask one they'll probably tell you.

I've been a Spurs fan since I was about 3 years old. 35 years of heartache with the odd FA Cup and a UEFA Cup.

I have no idea why people seem to think I'm a Chelski supporter.

Just as long as the pair of those Glaswegian teams stay out of the Premiership I'll be happy. They can keep that sectarian crp they peddle up there.

The thing is, Celtic claim their heritage is Irish, to counter that Rangers have an affinity to being British (or more recently English)

There is a song sung to the tune of "we are sailing" against the Old firm which is: -

    "Your not Scottish,
    Your not English
    Your not Irish
    Your not Welsh

    No-one likes you
    Weegie bar stewards
    Go on fcuk off
    Somewhere else"

because Chelsea is traditionally supposed to be Church of England club - no idea why

i've heard the "fenian !!!!!!" song at chelsea games up to the late 90s.
haven't heard it for a long time - but i only go to 3 or 4 games a season.

Is that so? It makes a lot of things I remember from years back make a little more sense.

Chelski fans have some fairly robust things to sing to Spurs fans. 'One Man Went to Gas...' springs to mind.

Do they still sing that? It's a not very nice song.

Wenger puts up with a lot too.

some idiots probably do sing that song still when they visit spurs - but i think the police try to crack down on it more as the premiership has an international marketing image to maintain now.

the arsene wenger and a packet of sweets song usually only comes out when spurs they play arsenal - it's funny and also very wrong i know but it really does annoy and make angry the Arsenal supporters. it's amusing to watch.

i like to go to as many games as i can a season to as many London clubs - you do really see the rivalry build up and it's interesting to know where it comes from historically.

just reading up on it now and it seems to be due to the type of "National Front" supporter who followed Chelsea in the 80s. this created a link to the loyalist supporters of Rangers.

    this is an interesting read

Spurs/West Ham is a wierd one. I went to the game at WHL a few years back and I was on the end of the row by the away end. I have never felt so much like so many people genuinely wanted to see me dead, especially after The Mighty/Mediocre (delete as appropriate) Spurs scored.

The funny thing was it was unreciprocated hate. The Spurs fans just treated it like another match with no more emotional charge than when they/we play Sotton or Liverpool.

the only reason the West Ham/Spurs rivalry is there is because Spurs don't have a realistic rivalry with Arsenal anymore. the next level down is West Ham...

Aye because of course one football club going bust is representative of the financial fortunes of the other 5 million people living in this country.

    Wow.

Clutching at wee bear straws this morning eh Thurg.

    No not at all.

I was shocked that a club like Rangers had gambled ( like Leeds) and appear to be paying the price.
