Boom and Bust in Scotland

For sports fans. The demise of Rangers FC.

No recession in Scotland ?
BBC Sport looks at how financial over-ambition at Ibrox has led Scottish giants Rangers to put all its assets - including the entire playing squad - up for sale.

Doubt its anything to do with the word recession and more to do with the shi**y league they both play in. 2 massive clubs, yes bigger than the majority of those in the English premiership but yet they get peanuts in sponsorship/TV revenues in comparison.

They can't compete anymore with wage demands for mediocre players. Money makes the world go round, If Hull city can offer a player £30k pw and Rangers only £15k pw guess where he's heading ;)

They need out of that league sooner rather then later as their demise is getting embarrassing now. Shocking in Europe the last couple of seasons.

Both need a good money injection. Swansea and Cardiff play in the English leagues, there is absolutely no reason why Celtic and Rangers can not join them.

Like any business, you have to live within your means.
Rangers clearly have not been doing so

It's not a pity, its a godsend that they are not.
It's quite funny but you obviously do not realise how much Aberdeen Fans hate Rangers, or maybe you do ;)

I heard a story of a Rangers family who decided to go out to the shops and treat themselves.
Mum, Dad, daughter and son all popped along to their local JJB with the instruction that they could get any one thing from the shop.

The young boy took his time looking at everything and eventually told his sister that he had decided what he wanted, an Aberdeen shirt.
The sister slapped him across a cheek and said "Dinnae be sae bloody stupit. Ging an tell yer maw whit ye've jist said"

So the young boy went to his mum and told her that he had decided what he wanted, an Aberdeen shirt.
The mother slapped him across the other cheek and said "Ah cannae believe what am hearing. Ging an tell yer da whit ye want"

So the young boy went to his dad and told him that he wanted an Aberdeen shirt.
The father gave him a hot backside and said "yer nae getting nithing for being so stupit"

In the car, Mum, Dad and Daughter are all proudly wearing their new Rangers tops when dad turned round to his son and said "I hope you learned something today"

To which the son replied "Aye, Av'e only been a Dons supporter for 5 minutes and I hate all you Rangers bar stewards" ;)

Aye because of course one football club going bust is representative of the financial fortunes of the other 5 million people living in this country.

Just as long as the pair of those Glaswegian teams stay out of the Premiership I'll be happy. They can keep that sectarian crp they peddle up there.

That's one of the reasons I hope they leave ;)

An English policeman one told me to stop singing a sectarian song when Aberdeen were playing Rangers.

I was shocked, what was I singing? The Flower of Scotland, our national anthem
