Tax Disc not arrived

I reapplied online 11 days ago for my new taxdisc, they've taken the money but the disc hasn't arrived. How long do these things take?

Doesnt it say on the website, it did with me and a set of instructions what to do if it doesnt turn up in the alloted time.

When I last did mine on line it arrived in 48 hours

I just renwed online last week. I ordered at about 8pm and the new disc arrived in the post after 2 days. I think dvla say allow about 5 days, so I guess that you should be getting in touch with them asap.

I applied a week ago for my new tax disc and it still hasn't arrived. On the DVLA website it states:

I have not received the tax disc. What should I do?

If the tax disc has not arrived after 5 working days, please telephone us between 8am to 8.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5.30pm Saturdays on 0870 850 4444. When you make the call, please have the Reference Number available and choose option 4 then option 1.

I tried this and surprise surprise following their instructions to the letter I ended up going around in a circle right back to where I started. I eventually spoke to a woman (after pushing a different number to the ones they say you should) who informed me that the disc was sent out earlier in the week.

I asked her what I should do if it doesn't arrive tomorrow as that is when it expires. She advised me to just put a note of the reference number in the window when I park my car. I asked her if this is legal to do and she replied it is a legal requirment that any car on the road has a valid tax disc. Work that out then if you can. She said that she could send it out recorded but I wouldn't get it till Monday.

Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions?

All sorted. I have cancelled the online disc with DVLA and I can apply for a full refund. The only downside is I will now have to join the queue at the post office tomorrow to buy it over the counter.

Ordered mine 3 days ago, came today.

Great service, so so much easier than the post office option...

Got mine this week - 4 working days.

This has put me off buying a tax disc online,at least at the post office you get it there and then.these things are ok till they go wrong then become complicated to sort out.
