Comet Your Way Card

I was issued with a Comet 'Your Way' card when I bought a washing machine about 4 years ago. I was given a £500 credit limit and an expiry date December 2009.

Two weeks ago I ordered a digital SLR camera from the Comet website using this card and when the camera didn't arrive I rang Comet only to be told that they did not accept payment with 'Your Way' cards anymore because they were phased out about a year ago!! I spoke to the manager in my local Comet store who confirmed this was true.

I have never received a letter notifying me of the changes.

Please can anyone tell me whether they can refuse my card when it is valid until December 2009!!!
