TV ARIEL PROBLEM

Being the techno-phobe that i am, i need help with a TV problem!
I have recently got a new DVD/TV combo for the bedroom but the reception is awful and i have so far only been able to watch DVD's on it!
Does anyone know if i can get something that will enable me to use my mains ariel for a better signal? I live in a rented flat and do not have any access to roofs/lofts to adjust the main ariel in anyway. What i was thinking of was something along the lines of a cable splitter, so i could use the mains ariel twice, once for my main TV and then again for my bedroom.
Also i have heard of Signal boosters and was wondering how these worked and if they are any good? I dont want anything that requres me drilling or fixing to walls! As well as being a techno-phobe i am also the worlds worst D.I.Y-er!
In advance, thanks for all your help!

i have a rooftop aerial, which runs down the front of the house into my lounge, thru a booster, then thru the videos/cable and then I split the final signal into two, one goes into my lounge tv, the other goes back upstairs to a splitter, which splits it into 3 signals, 1 for each of 3 bedrooms i have.
signal is fine, bad atmospheric pressure can effect the tv signal everywhere, but that is due to living in between two hills.
you could split the cable as it comes into your flat, then run cable thru to your bedroom.
or there might be some sort of wireless transmitter, to pass the signal to a reciever in your bedroom, similar to the sky remote type systemsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
