Credit card charges - are they fair?
Comments
-
Yh in my experience I was always just a one off fee in regards to being over my credit limit my minimum payment that I paid the following day brought me back within my credit limit. So it was def paid before my next statement. Oh well seems like a losing battle just so annoying that I have been charged so much for literally being late by less than 24 hours. Btw never in doubt I do take advice from strangers it was criticism from strangers I do not appreciate especially when u don't know me or my circumstances. Also I don't remember ever trying to blame someone else for this mess I was just asking if the charges were fair. So maybe u should read my posts before criticising try taking some of ur own advice.0

Ok, let me set you straight for the last time!
1 - you posted this thread (post 1)
2 - I responded (post #3)
3 - You replied moaning about employer etc - disregarding all my advice
4 - I then reiterated what i'd previously told you - #7 but this time I was more honest with you, i.e. blame yourself not the bank.
If that causes you to turn nasty then please do us all a favour and begger off to wherever you hang around cos your childish rants are unwarranted and pathetic to say the least!
How can you say 'I won't take criticism from strangers' when clearly it is your fault - that aint critical my son - its a goddam fact! :mad:2010 - year of the troll

tetty,
A well worded complaint should get most of the charges refunded for you.
The OFT could not foresee how credit card companies could justify a fee of more than £12 for the costs of issuing an automated letter or a phone call in most cases.
The interest rate is supposed to cover the risk that you can't pay back your borrowings, not charges.
A letter asking what possible administration charges could add up to £36 for paying a day late and a failed direct debit should get a refund for you. If not escalate your complaint and they will eventually back down, otherwise they risk a referal to the ombudsman that will cost them a lot more than £36 to defend.
Good luck
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
