Help please newbie here. Package holiday advice.

Hello to you all.
What a fantastic money saving site, I have already used it for getting a better sky deal and will also use it for other things when the need arises.

I have tried to read the holiday tips pages but they are massive, so I was hoping someone could help me.(have tried some sites for quotes)

What i am looking for is a holiday for 2 adults and a 13yr old child.
Departing on the 15th september 06, or 2/3 days later to spain, portugal or greece.(for 7 nights)

Departing from Durham Tees Valley/Newcastle or at a push Manchester.
I have tried myself but get quotes back of anywhere between £800 upto £1500. (dont know if this is being realistic but would like to pay a lot less).
At the minute im not comfortable doing a DIY holiday so would rather stick to a package holiday.

I would be able to book this within a couple of days if anything suitable is suggested.

Any help would be fantastic from the regular money saving experts on here.

Possibly a couple of hundred pounds. I dont know if thats just me being silly..
