If you fitted the splash back then why on earth did you put a wooden splash back behind a oven I think that is basic common sense. There a huge list of fire regs unless you want to pay for preinsualtion survey on top of insulation charge then unfortantly there not a lot that cud be done.
If you were told that the splash back so suitable then your complait should be with them not Commet.0
