From a BT line, 9.05p connection plus 5p* per minute (no real surprise that Sky chose the highest cost 0844 revenue-sharing numbers).
However, if you have Sky Talk, calls to Sky's 0844 numbers are included 'in plan' (i.e. evenings and weekends if you're on Sky Talk Freetime or at all times if you're on Sky Talk Anytime).
* Actually, it's 4.89p/minute at the moment because VAT has been reduced to 15% but, when that rises to 17.5% again on 1-1-2010, it'll revert to 5p/minute.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

The max for an 0844 number from a BT line is 5p/min.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
