Gosh, how rude! bridiej, you dont know me and I dont know you - I posted this in good faith because I have done this and have made money - no everyone in the world is dodgy you know! and I would thank you for not making such implications in a public forum! I was hoping to get into this site, i find it interesting, but if its just open for sarcastic comments like yours everytime I make an honest comment, maybe I will find something better to do!

Especially pay to join work opportunities that suggest you can make vast returns/ lucrative income.
  • Oh i can see that, is it not correct that these forums are for people to share their experiences? But only if it fits with what everyone else says?!!!!!

And it seems if you have something to say that is different or opposes the thread, you have some motive (couldnt possibly be telling the truth)! And someone comes along and suggests you are lying!!!!

If I had known I had to agree with everyone else for my comments to count, I wouldnt have bothered!

I came on here to have my say as I have genuinly made a lot of money doing this - and thought my comments may help other people do the same.

I expected the comment to be taken for what it was - none of this rubbish!

Not for me all this - Good luck to you all -

Anyone who invests some time in reading posts in this board will see that the same old ways of making money at home come up again and again, and data entry is not one of them. As is often pointed out to newcomers, people overseas can get data entry work online and can undercut workers in the UK. Exceptions might be people with many business contacts who know and trust them, but this is not very common.

It is also obvious that people on, say, the Avon or AQA threads are very helpful and share their knowledge freely, giving details of what they are earning and how.

Anyone who stays with MSE learns to be suspicious of a newcomer whose first post is in favour of something that the wiser and knowledgable members are suspicious of, especially when no details are given. This is a big red flag. And so is taking offence when people quite justifiably question someone's integrity.

People who are very good at looking for red flags and signs of a scam or something unethical on these websites that offer work use the same mechanisms to detect newcomers who may have vested interests.

    Good bye nailtech
  • you people are really not very nice - your like a little group of vigilanties!

Hey ho - if thats what you into! enjoy.
  • Vigilantes? That is very well put, and it is exactly what I like about MSE. I take it as a great compliment. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

It is impossible to say how many people have been saved from becoming involved with dubious companies and wasting their money by asking MSE for advice first, or by coming across the postings when searching for information.

I think that many newcomers to MSE are delighted to find large amounts of useful advice and information.

  • If data entry work is generally a scam, can anyone advise me on some ways to earn money from home on a casual basis (i.e. no set hours)?

I was attracted by these data entry websites, but what is written here makes a lot of sense.
  • Willthomson, you may get replies from a variety of people if you start a new thread asking this question, also it is worth investing some time in reading previous postings as someone asks about working from home almost every day.
