help from EDF price protection 2009 to 2010 plan?

My wife and I were on EDF price protection 2009 this until end of Oct 09. We have been transferred onto the price plan 2010 and have until the end of Nov (without penalty i.e. cooling off period) to decide if we want to change from this. Even after this if we change to a different tariff but stay with EDF there will be no penalties. If we move from edf there will be 25 pounds per fuel so 50 pounds penalty for leaving.
What I want to know I cant understand all these kilowatts etc - there are only 2 of us but we like the reassurance of knowing if prices go crazy we can pay comfortably without worrying about it. I cant understand exactly how much extra we will be paying for this tariff?- e.g. in comparison to what we were paying on the price protection plan 2009?
Any help appreciated as its driving me mad despite reading all sorts of posts. Does anyone think this is the best capped tariff with EDF or is there a better one it's all Chinese almost to me?
thanks guys in advance
