Automatically transferred to new capped tariff

Hi

I was with EDF Price Protection 09 which just ended. Not wanting to end up on some hideously expensive standard tariff I went to energyhelpline which presumed that I was now on a standard tariff and produced its list of recommendations. Third on the list price wise and best for customer service was EDF Online tariff v3.
I phoned EDF and asked if I could switch to the online 3 tariff. The rep was very helpful and phoned me back. She told me that I had automatically been transferred to Price Protection 10 which offers 2.5% discount on standard tariff. Online 3 offers 2% but the rep was a bit uncertain of how it worked because she said it was new to them as well. The main difference she said was that Online3 has a standing daily charge whereas the PP10 doesn't. (Note to self: must go read up what that actually means).
Why didn't I know about being put on the the new tariff? The letter is stuck in the post. I have two weeks to get out of it if I want to apparantly.
I'm now all at a loss to know what to do for the best because PP10 didn't appear anywhere in the energyhelpline list as far as I could see and I'm not bright enough to be able to work out what I would be saving per year without seeing it in a table in front of me!!

Is the Price Protection 2010 not available as an input tariff? It is on uSwitch.

It's also £400 per year dearer than other tariffs (for average use). (Unless I'm looking at a different one.)
