Hi, they were may 2006. I had some older ones (Nov 2005) but decided not to chance those ones. Doesn't time fly!

They will be ok in the sense they are safe, but they may taste a bit stale unless they were still sealed.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

They were ok once they cooked but I used them because I didn't have a lot of choice having got the rest of the ingredients cooked & ready. They were just in their cardboard box in a cupboard :)
  • You think you know about lasagne, let me tell you about lasagne!!! At the point of writing to these forums we are 20 minutes through lasagne sheets that are 14 years out of date .... yes .... YEARS! Best before Jan 2003 ... consumed 30th October 2014.

I intend to inform you of how things develop in the next 24 hours ... that's if we haven't all died!!!

Phew... I was worried when I didnt see another post but still within the 24hrs. I wouldn't eat them tbh... but bacteria does need moisture & assuming it is dried, in a dry store I can understand the thinking.

It would stop me enjoying the meal though...

The lasagne that I made last week contained sheets that were dated for 2009:)
Its in the freezer now, not sure how long it'll be in there but it tastes lovely 😀

  • My nose is the thing I trust more than anything and dried pasta I would eat without a problem I don't think I have ever even noticed when the sell by date is on lasagne sheets I just use until all gone then buy some more Don't eat that often and tend to make a large lasagne then portion it up for the freezer anyway
