Tesco mess with Windows 7 pre-order

I'm still awaiting word from them. Should be today or tomorrow. I will keep you informed. :money:0

I had a reply from the manager beneath Claire Gill, regarding our original telephone conversation we had, i.e like you to re-order at the higher price and he will arrange a refund. He has actually being helpful from a customer perspective, rather than Claire Gill's original approach which seemed to look at this from a logistics point of view, rather than a customer point of view, and was point blank - resolute nothing would be done - ie. tough - re-order at higher price.I'm still awaiting word from them. Thank you for your patience while we've tried to sort this out for you.
I've just been advised that, as I suggested I'd have done if it was down to me, if you submit a new order for item 206-3928 Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (Full Version) at the price of £94.47 and let me know the order number I'll ensure that you are refunded the price difference of £44.50.

Also Sponge, It is also worth reporting to consumer-direct

08454 040506, because they collate similar complaints, and do look into issues if it affects a large number of customers, as this may be (but Tesco won't admit numbers)0 -
I got my copy of W7 Pro. At the pre-order price too.
They had to order a discount code to amend the current price and rather than post it to me, I asked them to keep hold of it and telephone me when it arrived. They then took my order over the phone, applying the code, discounting it to £89.97. It arrived the next day, in one piece.
So it's a happy ending, but a lot of fuss to get there. It's not all Tesco's fault, part of the blame lies with the software suppliers, Ingram, too.0 -
Hi Sponge, finally received my copy of Windows 7 this morning also at the pre-order price, had to pay out £107.47, placing a new order, but Tesco were very quick to refund the difference £62.50 so that I only paid the pre-order price of 44.97 (49.97+£5 off voucher).
Actually the person I finally dealt with was extremely helpful and understanding regarding the problem and actually received the customer service I'd expected to receive from Tesco in the first place. Tesco obviously does have some very helpful and understanding Managers, but finding one was the hard part, and initially they were very quick to try and fob me off.
Thanks for your input to this thread, as it helped in getting a resolution to this.0
