Centre Parcs re BBQ

Hi all,
We are off to Centre Parcs in Penrith in about a week. We decided we would like to have a BBQ while we are there but the info doesnt seem really clear.
It seems our 3 bed lodge has a BBQ outside but it doesnt seem you can use it as a BBQ !
Can someone out there explain clearly the situation ? Do we have to take those small BBQ foil tray things to have a BBQ or do we have to buy things off Centre Parcs to use ?
The same goes for the fire can we take our own logs or do we have to buy them from Centre Parcs ?
Any other handy hints people can pass on about what we are better off take to save money much appreaciated as we have never been to Centre Parcs before.
Thanks

Hi
You have to use Centre Parcs own fire logs from the supermarket in Centre Parcs. The same applies to the BBQ. They are very strict on FIRES of any sort.
Money saving wise it is best to take your own bike because that adds up to a pretty penny if there are a few of you. If not, I sent my 15 year old son to get all the bikes as he got a child price but they gave him adults bikes !!
Take as much of your own food as you can especially wine, beer etc as it is expensive in the Parcmarket. Don't forget your toilet rolls and towells. I took my George Foreman Grill it was a godsend for breakfast. We gave the kids some money for a snack lunch and eat out at night.
It is a really good holiday for all ages, just wish I had booked a cabin a bit nearer the centre as we got worn out on that bike..............
Been to Elveden twice and Whinfell in Feb (icey cold).
Have fun

Went to Whinfell last weekend.
Yes you are supposed to use their overpriced foil barbecues, but there is nothing to stop you taking your own. The barbecues are brick built holders for the foil trays. The ones they sell are the double width ones - they are no different to ones on sale elsewhere.
Logs - i would not bother. It will be too hot. Remember you have central heating included. There is a thermostat on the wall ( you just set it to the temperature you want). Take some fat candles for the fireplace if you want to see flames.
Eating out is not very cheap. So take plenty of food if you want to keep costs down. Bikes are expensive so take your own if you can ( but take good locks - or buy them there for £1.50 each).
If you eat in the italian ( Lucianos ) or indian, only buy the smallest size soft drinks because refills are free. Many people miss this ( sadly it does not apply in other venues). Take-aways are just as expensive as eating in.0 -
when we went to whinfell a few years ago we took our own log things which we gotfrom costco at a much much cheaper price(we did go at december time though and burnt x2 every night).they were exactly the same makeas the ones they sell in the centreparcs shop.
i wouldve thought that at this time of year you woudnt really need to light the fire as they do get pretty warm.0 -
Well seems COSTCO maybe the place to go but dont you need to own a business to be able to join or is there another way ?"The time is always right to do what is right"0
