Evening! Can't say I'm too bothered about bonfires and fireworks.
Stupid quote of the day. Driving to Asda, ex: why can I smell burning? Duh...
I've never tried sherry, don't like port though.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Hi all! I know i don't post much - but love reading this thread every day. I think I need a bit of a reality check and could do with your help. A friend of mine died on Saturday - she was 44 and left 3 kids - aged 7 and 4 year old twins - I suddenly feel that life is way too short and want to make the most of the time with my kids (I have 4!) I have desperate urge to do mad things like book a trip to Disneyworld! (not got the money of course - but do have credit card!) I have already bought my eldest a way too expensive dress to wear for her 18th Birthday using this excuse!
Sorry for being so depressing - just needed to vent i suppose!0 -
hi judi - gosh how difficult for you babes.... first things first, so sorry for your loss... it is a loss too...
but step away from the disney stuff and by all means appreciate your kids some more, if indeed you are under appreciating them in the first place,i betcha if you ask them, they don't feel anything other than loved!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

Hi Judi, sorry for your loss, it's horrible losing people, especially when they are so young.
I went through a phase of living and spending for now when my mum died at 54 and I lost a few friends all in their early 30s. I soon realised that although the living bit was great for the 2 weeks we were doing it, the after effects of paying off the debt was taking away our choices and our chance to 'sieze the moment'. So, I figured that yes, it's really important to let the people in your life know just how much they mean to you. And, shoving money under the mattress for people to find when I'm old and senile isn't a great plan either. The trick is to find the balance, pay off as much as you can as quickly as you can, that way you will have money spare to live exactly how you want to without the big black debt cloud hanging over your head.:A

Thankyou you are right - we would have fun for 2 weeks and I would end up paying for it forever! and it would take away our choices for a while. I doub't very much that I will be in a position to stash anything under my matress lol (appart from dust maybe!). I just need to saty focused in paying my debt but having good cheap fun with the kids in the meantime!
I knew you guys would keep me straight! Thanks0 -
