Are EA's ever busy?
No,:) Busy in this case is the odd person wandering in asking for details or registering.
EA offices are basically high street advertising space and a office to work from.
I would say a lot of EA's could now operate from non high street positions because of the internet.
But then thinking about it would you market your house through one on the high street or not? I suppose the footfall can help.0 -
Are EA's ever busy? Don't people just walk in, register their details and property requirements, and that's it?
I spent about 10 minutes altogether in EA's when I bought my place, 5 minutes for each one I signed up to.
Whenever we bought a house this was basically what we did - register - take some details away with us (well me normally, Oh just signed on the dotted line when he had to) - and in the days before the internet they used to send out new details to you about once a week. We made appointments for veiwings over the phone and made our offers over the phone.
I can't ever remember having to queue in an estate agents office.0 -
Chucky, you don't have to thank my posts, I'm well aware we have a difference of opinion in where the average house price is going over the next few years.
i thank your posts because you bring honest anecdotal information to the forum
the short-term, medium-term or long-term view of the property market is irrelevant to what you are seeing and how you think things will turn out.
each of us are big enough to know when the best time to buy into a housing market that has been expensive for the last 10-15 years and will always be expensive.0 -

That's more like it chucky! :beer:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
The OP must think you take a flask and sarnies for a day out at the EA,last house i bought was viewed online with EA.
Viewing arranged via telephone with EA,only ever physically visited for all of 5 mins to show AIP.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0 -
Does this more likely prove that there can be an efficiency drive to cut out EA bloat?
Do we need all these people in these shops. The internet + a highly mobile, highly rewarded set of realtors would do it.
When every other workplace area is subject to mass cutbacks in staff, I don't see why the same can't be applied here. Making it cheaper to sell your house can only aid sales can't it?0 -
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0

75 in my name

Wouldn't bother, I'd start planning retirement to the old peoples home. Mewbie works at one in Blackburn, don't know if that's local to you, he raves about the place anyway, just as long as you don't mind one of the greatest swingers in history wiping your bottom tom?0 -
I travel alot and I find that everywhere I go, if I pass an estate agents, its always totally empty. I ever went past Oystons in Blackpool last week and there was only one lady in there looking extremely bored with the door locked. She tried to drag me in but I made my excuses and walked on. .
Maybe Oystons was empty for another reason...?
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/owen-oyston-held-over-sexassault-allegations-1572281.htmlFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
They are probably all out getting their new BMW Mini's with bright graphics before the rush starts!0
