Best Electricity and Gas Prices

I have been with my current provider Scottish Power for a number of years and their prices are just ridiculous. Can anybody please advise me as to which is the best gas/elec provider at the moment please?

I have been told that British Gas is very compariable can anybody please
commment on this please?

    Find a comparrison site or go to each electricity company and find out their cheapest tariffs for your region.

    Then take your yearly consumption and work out how each compares then pick the lowest price.

    If you don't know your yearly consumption put in 4000 kWh for electricity and 18000 kWh for gas.

    Only you can work out what is the cheapest as only you know how much you use and where you stay.
