Help needed

We are a small/medium business who have suddenly been given the opportunity to expand rapidly.
We need, I think a mentor? if that is the right word... not an investor as we do not need financial investment.
Can anyone tell me where we can find someone with enough successful business experience in the past to give us help and advice in how to deal with negotiating contracts and job offers that are coming in so we don't mess it up?:o
Any advice would be great
Thanks

  • Your first port of call should be your accountant. They already know a fair bit about your business and will probably have a number of local contacts that may prove invaluable. Even if they do not want to get involved they will probably know someone to put you in touch with.

Before you engage anyone you need to write down what it is you want them to bring to your business. Having a defined set of goals will help monitor their input.

    Thank you for the advice.
We have coped on our own for the past 5 years but suddenly things have really taken off and we are begining to feel we need some expert help.
We know our goals and can even see other area's we could expand into that are not being serviced properly at the moment with our existing clients.

Thanks for replying. We have worked with Business Link.. still do on occasions.
Thing is we are nearly 6 years down the line since we started.
We are quite specialised in what we do.
Please don't imagine we are being big headed or smug ..we know a company,s reputation is only as good as the last job completed
We have a production company who are interested in filming us for a programme for Sky TV .. we are expanding suddenly and we really need someone who has experience in our market and can really move this company to the next level..
I am contacting our accountant on Monday but I'm not sure local help is what we need.. and like I said we don't need financial help so Dragons Den is a no go.. 50% for 100K investment.. dream on:eek: LOL
    Hope this post makes sense
