Reverse charges from Thailand

My daughter made a reverse charge call from Thailand lin August to say she was safe. The call lasted less than one minute. Onetel are charging us £56.43 for that call.
They say it is because that is what they have been charged - less the 28p cost of the call!
How can this be acceptable?!!
They can offer me no information as to who they are paying the balance to.
Is this correct and can anyone offer advice on anything we can now do?

You get charged what your telephone company is charged by the overseas telephone company.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2038567Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

A typical fuzzy, unhelpful and lacking in detail answer from a telecom support line. Of course they should be able to say exactly what a reverse charge call should cost you. The amount Onetel have to pay is not your concern. What Onetel charge you and why is your business.
Good old BT lay it out here:

Note the 5 minute minimum charge and the collect call service charge.
International calls probably come into the country via BT. Do your sums and ask Onetel what their tariff is for such calls.0
