hi can anybody help clear something up for me please im in the process of trying to repair my credit rating/score and have been told that if somebody with a good clean credit history adds me as an additional card holder on their credit card account it would show as an open account on my credit file and help improve my credit score/rating. obviously all payments are up to date and on time. also would it affect the other persons credit rating with mine being so poor my score is 483

Technically, it's one person's account and the other just has access to it. It is technically possible that joint utility bills could be reported on credit files, though current practice is not to do so.
I'm an additional cardholder on a card and it doesn't show up on my report at all, I imagine it doesn't show on anyone's0 -
how long have you been an additional card holder for? would it show up immedietly or would there be a delay in it appearing on my file if at all?0

No, if you're an additional card holder then it will not show up on your credit report; you have no liability for debt on someone else's credit card and so it will only show on the holder's report.

A year, and it will never appear as the other posts have pointed out (although I imagine an ID check might appear, but this won't affect you being credit scored at all)0 -
