homebase refused to refund? Any suggestion

Got a kitchen delivered last friday and went into store today to return the handles coz I got better ones from elsewhere. A manager came out and refused to refund although the handles're NOT customer made. The kitchen's actually a price match and the price i paid's well below their actual price.
I understand I paid a package price and a single item's difficult to value and actually I didn't seek the full refund but an adjusted price according to the discount i got in the first place, but I was told I cannot get a single penny back coz their manufacturer won't take it back and the handles's not an retail item in the shop. And it's not fall into distant selling policy either.
Any suggestion I can do next? Thanks

Did you buy/pay for it all in store?
If so, then unfortunately there is nothing you can do. You bought the goods, which they supplied. The items met the requirements and were not faulty, end of contract.
If you ordered it online though, then you should be able to return them under the provisions of the Distance Selling Regulations within 7 days of receiving them.0 -
I agree - there's nothing you can do as far as homebase are concerned. It's like buying a suit and then trying to return just the trousers. Sell them on ebay is definitely the best idea.0

I agree with all the above.
wouldn't be surprised if the manager swore a little bit under his/her breath afterwards too :-)The advice I give on here is based on my many years in the preservation industry. I choose to remain anonymous, I have no desire to get work from anyone. No one can give 100% accurate advice on a forum if I get it wrong you'll get a sincere apology and that's all:D
Don't like what I have to say? Call me on 0800 KMA;)0 -
I agree with those above, it's like buying a car and wanting to return the wheel nuts because you found a set of more shiny ones. What did you expect the manager to say??0

I agree with Homebase I'm afraid. (and that shocks me)
the store dont sell them seperately and the manufacturer wont accept them back so Homebase would be at a loss here just because you now have found better or nicer handles elsewhere
best bet would be to sell them on ebay or freecycle them if you are feeling generous"The darkness has no answers"0 -
And if they aren't damaged or faulty, you have no legal reason to get a refund anyhow...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
