Hi, im looking for advice on getting a government grant or loan for undertaking an extention on my 3 bedroom detatched house. There is alot of ground space and 2 garrages to build ontop of. Planning permission for an additional 2 bedrooms and living room was granted to the previouse owners in the past but has now expired, my family would now like to extend to accommadate my parents who are both over 70.

Are there any Grants that we could apply for?

...where the council may redesign/Extend your GF layout to accomodate a new Bath/Kitchen/Bedroom?

You have a 3 bedroom, detatched house with a double garage and large gardens. What makes you think you should get a grant?

I think you have no chance.

Thats a receipe for disaster. Have them very close by by all means but they have to retain their independence and having them under the same roof won't work. <ducks back below parapet to avoid the deluge of incoming that says I'm wrong>
