Surely a credit limit is olny the amout they are willing to lend you, there is no actual money involved. Unless you have a statement showing the acount in credit, I would be very wary...

The way I see it it works out you are just using all the discount vouchers all at once instead of one at a time.
I started with £900 limit and just because I sent too items back why would they raise my credit limit?? I have been refunded the codes aswell. So if I used £35 on something and brought my limit back to £900 and rung to close the account they would as I was given a £900 limit and thats whats still available to spend.

I wasnt aware Littlewoods were contacting people regarding codes.. if i did know then i wouldnt have posted this thread.

    Sorry!

I think you will find you are wrong mate, but thats just my opinion. Only way you'll find out is to try it.

Its obviously just a glitch in the system.

Your credit limit is £900, you buy somthing for £30 with a £15 coupon which knocks your credit limit down to £885. You send it back so they put it in the system and it takes your credit limit back up, but the system error means it moves your limit back up to the full purchase amount!

Anyway I think I am right, i'll eat my hat if i'm wrong!!! Credit limits are different from being IN CREDIT!

So how come I have got a -£35 balance now after returning those two items.. if I buy something for £35 it will take my balance to £0.. or buy something for £36 it will give me a balance of £1.. which i will owe!
  • My advice if you want to do this........ DONT open an account, use your Debit or Credit card. They DO refund the whole price, not the discounted price. I know, ive done it, not on purpose though.....ive only bought stuff i genuinely wanted and have returned for genuine reasons (eg DD wanted a pink gameboy and they sent a silver one)
BTW, i havent done this for at least a year, so dont know if it still works, so please only order stuff you genuinely want!!

So a year ago MORPH3US would have been eating his hat?? ;-)

I did want the two items but they didnt fit..

I didnt realise it was this stressful adding a new thread..maybe its the way ive worded it all from the beginning. My account shows -£35 and credit limit £900 not £935!

I think its wrong!! to buy code from Ebay... You can get all the code(s) for FREE all you have to do is ask anyone of us money saving members I am sure somebody will post the codes ( I know I will, if I can help all of us saving as much as we can, I think some people are greedy by selling it on ebay) whether it will work or not is another matter.

Whoa guys, leave off Richie, he's only trying to help.It all depends on which way you interpret the thread. If he had a £900 credit limit and it's now £935 then it's just the credit limit that has changed. If he had a £900 credit limit, but his balance on his statement shows £35 credit, then obviously his account is in credit and he is right.Either way, give the guy a break. You can see from his postings that he has only posted a few times ... he doesn't need any hassle.

Hang on a sec, I was only trying to help him by explaining that his money saving / making tip might not be so money saving / making.

However now he has explained that his account ballance is showing -£35 (sorry if you explained earlier and I missed it) then I think he may be right.

If thats the case then congrats to him!

All that talk of credit limits at the start confussed me or rather didn't present a full picture of the situation!
